Darwin Open Source Fabricator

The Darwin class of fabricators are systems that were developed during the 2090s with the help of the Titanians to provide the spacers with a set of relatively high quality fabricators that would be released into the public domain as open source under a copy-left license, allowing everyone to modify the systems.

Darwin Fabricators exist in many of the different weight classes of Fabricators, but have one thing in common. A Darwin can produce the parts to replicate itself and the parts of the next largest Darwin. This means that a single desktop Darwin fabricator can be used to eventually make an industrial scale unit.
